Love: keep on surprising our loved ones

Up until now I have been surprised quite a few times this year. The feeling of being surprised is wonderful. It’s exciting not to knowing what will happen, but too be honest, I’m really bad at receiving and organizing a surprise. When I’ve got a clue that I will receive a surprise I’m definitely the one who keeps on asking what the surprise will be. And when I’m the organizer it will shine through that I have a surprise on my mind. Well, let’s say ‘practise makes perfect’!

Recently I heard about a nice surprise; a few friends travelled off to Oslo to surprise a common friend who works there as a city tour guide. They joined her tour and blowed her mind! So who are you going to surprise?

Step up Revolution ~ Gallery Art Dance

The above ‘Gallery Art Dance’ moved me to the bone. If you’re looking for inspiration, stop right here and take a few minutes to watch this dance performance. What moved me was the combination of the beauty of colour, the soft movements and the element of surprise. Somehow the beauty of it all struck me right in the heart; tears sprang out of my eyes. I felt thankful, alive and excited.

As children we grow up in wonder. We are surrounded by everything worth discovering. We get excited by the simplest things; lighting a candle, cutting paper with scissors and climbing up a chair to watch other children playing. Most children definitely laugh more than adults. They laugh because they truly enjoy what they’re doing. What happened along the way to adulthood?

A lot can happen. How big or small the trauma’s are, if it is still limitating your life it is worth to take a look at it. Most of us are afraid of the depth of the trauma, of all the emotions they might feel. From experience I know that the negative emotions will make place for loving emotions. Of course it’s not easy to dive into something painful, but how you will feel in the end is definitely worth the time, effort and energy.

Let’s learn to live more authentically. We do that by overcoming our fears and by confronting ourselves with hurt, anger and disappointment. One way to do this is to perceive more love around us. Shift your focus to beauty and let the love in. Experiencing more love helps us to feel the pain we need to let go.

Love is an energy that creates a feeling that changes and transforms the experience that we call life.

Nothing is moving forward, change is so dificult

Nothing is moving forward, change is so difficult! Those thoughts seemed to be so deeply engraved into my mind when I talked to the last time to my coach that I found myself completely hopeless and felt a moment of regret for her.

We didn’t talk for long. The summer she did what she had previously recommended to me – focusing on herself. While I did, what I shouldn’t do – focusing on anyone but me. Trying to repair broken friendships, trying to forget guys whom I liked or even loved but who were not interested to be a friend or partner to me, trying to cope with the ego issues of some chauvinistic men. Not being able to work because this all disturbed me mentally so much. But did really “nothing” happen?

Well, if you just see the routine of your daily life you neglect your own moments of success, as rare as they might be. I got a job contract though it is only for some month, with really nice colleagues. I managed to solve the issue with my parents, another topic I was talking about with Chungmei for long. I found myself a fantastic socializing person even among Germans during the marriage of my brother which was another very happy and pleasing event. I distanced myself not from all the complicated friends I know but from those ones who had not been good for my personal well-being. And I got to know so many people during the past days, good people, not the ones who pretend to be good and just turn out to be “friends of need” who throw you away in the end when they got what they wanted.

One thing indeed is different. I might not feel totally happy, but I do feel more stabile inside. A very small center of balanced gravity found its way alive. What will finally come out of it, I don’t know, but I do not care much about this currently, as it “just feels good”. I learned a lot about myself, about my special way to be, as a member of the human minority population which is hypersensitive. I spent hours to convince ignorant friends that hypersensitivity (hsp) indeed exists and that people with this phenomenon face so much different personal challenges in life than others.

Finding a center of gravity inside oneself is really a pleasure because it gives way to develop inner strength. I am looking forward to taste more of it…

The Lazy Manifesto: Do Less. Then, Do even Less

Twitter is a very handy tool to stay up -to -date. Through my sister Ouxu I read the article ‘The Lazy Manifesto: Do Less. Then, Do even Less. Leo Babauta from ZenHabits wrote this article about doing as little as possible. The best part of the article in my opinion, you find below:

  • Go with the flow. Imagine the effort required to swim upstream compared to moving with the flow of a river. If you go with the flow of things, rather than against them, you will naturally do less, and with less effort.
  • Don’t force things. A common mistake — trying to hard, forcing something that doesn’t want to be forced, forcing people to do things they don’t want to do. A lot of effort, action, and time is wasted. Instead, find a smoother way — think of water, which flows around things rather than trying to force its way through them.
  • Find the pressure points. In martial arts, instead of using maximum force, you are wise to find the points in the body where less force can be used to greater effect, whether that’s to cause pain or imbalance or some other effect. Well, I don’t advocate finding pain, but the idea of pressure points is a good one: if you can find the little spots where a little action can change everything, can go a long way, you have mastered the Do Less philosophy.
  • Let others do. Give others the room and freedom to move, to create, to invent, to learn, to work, to do, on their own. Less time, effort and action spent trying to control others means that you do less, but let others make things happen. It means letting go of control, but that’s a good thing. Other people have creativity, imagination, dedication, good ideas too.
  • Let things happen. Often our actions interfere with events that would happen without our actions. In other words, if we took no action, things would happen without us. Sometimes it’s better to let things happen. Step back, don’t act, things will happen without us.
